Charan is coming on 26 Nov to give you the flavour of Orange

Ram Charan’s latest movie Orange is all set to release on next Friday and that has understandably made this Friday a ‘Dry-day’! As Orange is the most awaited film of the season, people are waiting eagerly to watch it at the earliest possible. Orange has been getting bigger in terms of expectations by the day.
So, many small film producers are not taking the risk to get crushed under Orange. That is the reason why there is no straight Telugu film that is releasing on this Friday. Only Harry Potter 7’s Telugu dubbed version is releasing on 19th November.
Actually, Rakta Charitra 2 was supposed to release on this Friday, but Ram Gopal Varma is not prepared to take a chance by locking horns with Ram Charan’s Orange. If Orange turns out to be a big hit there will be many changes occurred to release dates of the upcoming films too.
Industry people are well aware of what a blockbuster film does to the opponents with classic examples like Magadheera and Robo! Let us see if Orange lives up to the expectations of fans and film fraternity alike.

Veturi Passed Away

Veteran lyricist Sree Veturi Sundararamamurthy (74) passed away due to a cardiac arrest today, May 22, in Care Hospital, Banjara Hills at about 9:30 p.m. He has been sick for a while and had to be moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) two days back. Born in Kollur of Guntur district on January 29, 1936, Sree Veturi entered the film industry as a lyricist with the film O Seetha Katha (1974). Starting withmaanasaveeNaa madhugeetam... from the film Panthulamma (1977), he won the Nandi Award for the Best Lyricist a total of 8 times, with the latest being foruppongelE gOdaavari... from the film Godavari (2006). He won the highly reputed National Award for Best Lyrics once, for raalipOyE puvvaa neeku raagaalendukE...from the film Maathrudevobhava (1993). Interestingly, he won the Manaswini Trust Award the same year for another song in the film - vENuvai vacchaanu bhuvanaaniki...; he won Manaswini Trust Award earlier for the song aakaaSaana sooryuDunDaDu... from the film Sundarakanda (1992).
Sree Veturi Sundararamamurthy ruled the roost almost single-handedly for at least 10-15 years, though he was a contemporary of stalwarts like Dr. C. Narayana Reddy, Acharya Aathreya, and Arudra during that period. Veturi's talent was that he excelled in all kinds of songs - philosophical songs, devotional songs, traditional songs, dance-/music-based songs, contemporary-styled club/pop/disco songs, love songs, "item" numbers, and a lot more genres! Apart from his award-winning songs in several films, his works such as the "kiraataarjuneeyam" in Bhakta Kannappa(1976), his songs in K. Viswanath's films like Sirisirimuuva (1978),Sankarabharanam (1979) and Saagara Sangamam (1984), Prathighatana (1985),Geethanjali (1989), Seetharamaiah Gaari Manavaraalu (1992), and many more films won high critical acclaim. His works for Yamagola (1977) created a rage among mass-oriented audience and similar trends continued for long later. In all genres of songs, he always was a trendsetter! With the death of Rajasri, Sree Veturi became the first choice for major films dubbed from Tamil, including Bombay(1995), Devaraagam (1995), Iddaru (1997), Adbhutam (1999), Sakhi (2000), and many more followed.  Even very recently, his lyrics for Sekhar Kammula's films such as Anand (2004), Godavari (2006), and Leader (2010), and Gunasekhar'sVarudu (2010) won high acclaim. His command over language is unequalled, and he was known to coin several compounded words through his lyrics. Having entered the filmdom in the mid-70s leaving his profession as a journalist, Sree Veturi was seen all over the place by the end of the decade! Even when his seniors, and juniors, in the field retired or took breaks voluntarily or otherwise, Sree Veturi did not take a break until the mid-90s and made a comeback with Choodaalani Undi(1998). His last film that saw an audio release and is yet to release is Mani Rathnam's Villain 2010 (2010). (However, there are more movies, which are in various phases of pre-production and production, for which Sree Veturi has penned at least a few songs each.)
Sree Veturi penned books related to music and literature, and was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Acharya Nagarjuna University in 2007. A book titled "komma kommakO sannaayi", published by Veturi Sahiti Samiti, was quite popular among film audience and connoiseurs of literature alike, wherein Sree Veturi shared his association with various film personalities and even discussed some of his lyrics! He inspired many people to write lyrics, and even popular lyricist Sreesirivennela Seetharama Shastry considers Sree Veturi as his guru! We at TeluguCinema.Com pay our salutations with tear-filled eyes to the highly intellectual, efficient, and hardworking lyricist the redefined the film lyrics standards within a few years after his advent into the arena!

New Rating System for Indian Films

There will be no more mere A or U or U/A certificate for Indian films. India's film rating system is set for a revamp, with the draft Cinematograph Bill, 2010 adding more age-specific categories of certification, in line with international norms.

Under the draft Bill, which could see the light in the next session of Parliament, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is proposing five categories of ratings.
The Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC), better known as the Censor Board, will now be asked to certify films under the U, 12+, 15+, A and S categories. This translates to films meant for unrestricted viewing (U), those unsuitable for children below 12 years (12+), those unsuitable for children below 15 years (15+), and those meant only for adults, or people above 18 years (A). The S rating is for films restricted to certain professions or classes.
Liberal stance towards sex scenes would be practiced.
Under the current Cinematograph Act, 1952, there are three categories - U, A and U/A, the last of which calls for parental discretion and guidance on whether the film is suitable for children under 12 years. The new draft Bill also acknowledges the importance of women's perspectives on the films to be released and mandates that one-third of the members of the CBFC, as well as the regional advisory boards, must be women.
If the applicant for certification is the producer of the film, the certificate will be deemed to be evidence that he owns the copyright of the film, according to the draft Bill. It also stipulates that the Board must disclose the reasons for its decisions either to refuse certification or to restrict the film under any of the categories except the U rating.
The draft Bill also aims at dealing with the issue of piracy by introducing penalties for those who make duplicate prints or issue unauthorised copies or negatives. The punishment ranges from a fine between Rs.5 lakh and Rs.25 lakh and imprisonment from one to three years.

6 biggies stopped & reported againt Brami

In an attempt to cut down the production costs, Andhra Pradesh Producer’s Council has taken bold step. In an urgent meeting convened today (Apr 22, 2010), the council put break to six big films that are about to begin the shoot from May. Born on August 20, 1931 at Simhadripuram of Kadapa district to Basavaraju Venkata Seshaiah and Santhamma, Sree Padmanabham stepped into Telugu film industry in 1943 with the film Krishna Prema. His presence was noted in the films Mayalokam(1945), Radhika (1947), Shavukaru (1950), and Pathala Bhairavi Devatha (1965). His banner, which also had his colleague as theater artiste Vallam Narasimha Rao as producer, was named Rekha & Murali Productions, after Padmanabham's elder son Murali and Vallam Narasimha Rao's daughter Rekha. He made 10 films as producer, including notable films such as Potti Pleader-u (1966), Sree Sree Sree Maryada Ramanna (1967) in which he introduced S.P. Balasubhramanyam as playback singer,Sreerama Katha (1968) which he directed too, Kathanayika Molla (1970) which he also directed and won the State award too, Pelli Kaani Thandri (1976), acting in prominent roles in all of them. As an established actor, he enthralled the audience in various films, and films like Iddaru MithruluDevathaPandava VanavasamuPotti Pleader-uParamanandayya Sishyula KathaSree Sree Sree Maryada Ramanna,Bhakta PrahladaSreerama KathaDasara Bullodu, and Pelli Kaani Thandri(1951), and soon he became a popular choice for comedy. Much later in his career, he turned a producer with NTR-Savitri starrer
He maintained good health until the end, thanks to his healthy living habits and yoga practice. After considerable gap, he reappeared on the silver screen in a short role inMayalodu (1993), in Balakrishna-starrer Bhairava Dweepam (1994) as the sorcerer's aide like in the classic film Pathala Bhairavi that made him popular, and in Subhamasthu (1995). Later, he acted in Chakram (2005) as himself and in Bhadra the same year. Sivaji-Krishna Bhagawan starrer Tata, Birla, Madhyalo Laila (2006) marked Sree Padmanabham's last screen appearance. However, he was seen actively participating in "Telugu Cinema Vajrotsavalu", even extemporaneously singing the popular number prEma kOsamai valalO paDenE paapam pasivaaDu... ( Pathala Bhairavi) without even having to look at the lyric! (He indeed sang a few songs in films too earlier, such as maa ooru madaraasu... from Devatha.)
It's a sad time for fans of Telugu Cinema classics to see such much-celebrated veterans to leave the world. TeluguCinema.Com mourns the death of Sree Padmanabham and hopes his family and fans recover from the bereavement soon.

Rare Combination is ready to shoot

K Vijayabhaskar, who has not had a single hit every since Nuvvu Naku Nacchav, is going to soon direct Pawan Kalyan in April.  The film will be written by his trusted assistant Trivikram, with whom he is teaming up many years after Jai Chiranjeeva.
The film will be produced by comedian-turned-producer Ganesh Babu, who has made the unsuccessful Anjaneyulu in 2009.  Though other details of the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be known, it has been planned that the film will go on floors from April.
For Vijayabhaskar, it is a big comeback after continuous flops in the recent years.  Also, with Trivikram, who has himself turned a director, KVB is sure to strike the right note.  The hit combination has delivered three big hits in the last decade - Nuvve Kavali, Nuvvu Naku Nacchav and Manmathudu, two with big stars.
After directing Chiranjeevi in 2005, Pawan is the biggest hero with whom the talented director is working.  The audience can expect a laugh riot!
