Music director Ramana Gogula arrested

Hyderabad city crime station police on Thursday arrested well known music director Ramana Gogula in connection with a cheating case. Details regarding the cheating case are yet to be known.

Ramana Gogula debuted to Tollywood with 'Premante Idhera' and later delivered many musical hits like 'Thammudu, Badri, Johnny, Lakshmi & Annavaram.' He recently formed his own production house and made "Boni" with Sumanth and sources say that this movie has incurred huge losses resulting financial troubles to Gogula

Ranas Leader Logo Launch On Nov 4th

Rana Daggubati, grandson of producers Dr D Ramanidu and son of D Suresh Babu, is  making his Telugu cinema debut with Leader under Sekhar Kammula’s direction.

Now According to Film Nagar Sources Daggupati Family is planing to Launch the logo Of  Rana's Flick Leader in a grand Style on November 4th. 

The film’s launch was held at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad on January 21. It was a private affair and the media was not invited. Venkatesh, Ramanaidu, Naga Chaitanya and other family members of Ramanaidu attended the launch.

Following this, shooting began on sets at Pedanandipaadu village, specifically the Padanandipaadu Arts and Science college. Scenes involving college students and politics were shot. 

Although everyone involved with the making of the movie has stayed mum on the subject, my sources tell me that it is a political thriller along the lines of Mani Rathnam’s Yuva.

Ram Charan Orange launch in grand style

The formal launch of Ram Charan's upcoming film Orange was held at Novotel in grand style. Chiranjeevi, Dasari Narayana Rao, Venkatesh, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Bommarillu Bhaskar, Rana, Nagababu, Puri Jagannath, Krish, SS Rajamouli, VV Vinayak, Seenu Vytla, Shyam Prasad Reddy, Gemini Kiran, Surender Reddy, KL Narayana, B Gopal, Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Meher Ramesh, Vamsi Paddipally, Dil Raju, Allu Sirish and Srikanth were some of the prominent personalities who graced the occasion.

Orange is directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. Genelia plays the main female lead opposite Ram Charan. Kajal plays a pivotal role in the film. The film is produced by K Nagababu on Anjana Productions banner. Harish Jayaraj composes music for the film.Cinematography is by Kiran reddy of Naach fame and stunts is by Peter Heins.

Katha' audio launched in unique style

Hero NTR graced the audio launch of Katha. Produced by Urmila Gunnam, the film stars Genelia D’Souza and debutant Arun Adhith in the lead roles. The audio function was held on Monday, October 19, at State Art Gallery, Hyderabad.

The flick is directed by Srinivas Raga and is produced on Just Yellow Media Private Limited banner.

K. Raghavendra Rao, Krishna Vamsi, Rajamouli, Tammareddy Bharadwawja, Prakash Raj, KL Narayana, Suresh Babu, Ananth Sriram, Gunnam Gangaraju, MM Keeravani, Valli, Rama Rajamouli, Arun Adhith, Genelia, Raghubabu and others took part in the function.

Rajamouli anchored the event in an interesting manner. A skit was presented before the launch of the audio. A thread of the narration was formally started with a batch of guests, followed by two other groups. At last, Prakash Raj stood the winner in the contest. The film is set for release next month.

Kalyani's 'Chapter 6' music launched

Venkatesh, Rajashekar, Jagapathi Babu Dasari Narayana Rao and other bigwigs graced the audio launch of actress Kalyani’s maiden production Chapter 6. Directed by her hubby Sooriyakiran, the film stars Kalyani in lead role while Haranath and others act in pivotal roles. Kalyani has invited all the stars with whom she paired up with - Venkatesh (Vasantham), Rajashekar and Jeevitha (Seshu) and Jagapathi Babu (three films). Dasari Narayana Rao launched the audio albums and appreciated Kalyani for venturing into film production. He wished the director good luck. Venky who termed Kalyani as fine actress wished the same. Rajashekar and Jeevitha said they discouraged the Kalyani and her hubby from venturing into production, as it is a tough task and a headache.

Kalyani and her hubby later thanked all the stars that graced the event. Sooriya Kiran said the film is about six phases in love and romance.

Allu Arjun and Hansika back together!

Allu Arjun and Hansika are back together. Hansika who made debut opposite Allu Arjun inDesamuduru went on to become one of the most sought after actress in Tollywood. With a string of hits, Kantri and Maska, this rotund beauty is all set to be paired up with her first hero again. Buzz is that Hansika is being roped as heroine opposite Allu Arjun in his current multi-starrer movie, Vedam being directed by Krish of Gamyam fame. Although Hansika has not yet signed on the dotted line, she reportedly said yes when she was offered the role.

The film also stars Manchu Manoj and Anushka in the lead roles. Allu Arjun plays a mass character in this movie. 

Mahesh Babu begins shoot in Hyderabad

After a brief gap, Mahesh Babu has begun shooting for his current film again. The new schedule has commenced today (October 19th) in Hyderabad and it will continue till month end. And the unit will move on to Rajasthan and Vikarabad in November 1st week for a month long schedule. Meanwhile art director Anand Babu will design a village set in Rajasthan and Vikarabad.

Being directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Singanamala Ramesh Babu, the film stars Anushka as heroine. Mani Sharma, has once again joined hands for this who also played a vital role for the success of the musical melodrama Athadu. Added to that is Sunil Patel’s unobtrusive camera work which will certainly be a visual treat. 

Pawan Kalyan's 'Puli' completes talkie part

Puli starring Pawan Kalyan in the direction of SJ Surya is under brisk shooting schedule. Made on Kanakaratna Movies banner and produced by Singanamala Ramesh Babu, the film has completed its talkie portion as it gets ready for release.

Director SJ Surya said that the audience would see the power of a tiger in the characterization of Pawan Kalyan in the film titled as Puli. “I have full confidence that the film will create a big sensation in the film industry and would cross all the expectations of the audiences of all sections.”

Nikisha Patel is heroine for Pawan Kalyan. The star cast included Manoj Bajpai, Charanraj, Nazar, Jyothikrishna, Ali, Kovai Sarala, Girish Karnad and others.

AR Rahman is the music director; cinematography is by Binodh Pradhan, while Surya renders story, screenplay, dialogues and direction.

Balayya dances with Namitha at RFC

Balakrishna and Namitha are shaking legs for a catchy tune composed by Chakri. They are working together for first time for Simha, being directed by Boyapati Seenu. Currently at a special set erected at Ramoji Film City, Balakrishna and Namitha are shooting for the song. Namitha plays lead heroine role along with Sneha Ullal in the film. Another senior actress will be donning a key role in the movie.

The film is produced by Parachuri Kiriti and it is slated for Sankranthi release.

Bajarang Dal creates ruckus at 'Mahatma' office

Bajarang Dal today (October 14, 2009) today demanded an apology from director Krishnavamsi for hurting the sentiments of Hindus in his recently released Mahatma. Some members belonging to Bajarang Dal from Hyderabad staged dharna at Mahatma office in Filmnagar and demanded to delete the scenes. “Some scenes in the film ridiculed Hindus and hurt our sentiments. We want those scenes to be cut from the film immediately and Krishnavamsi and producer should offer apologies for hurting the Hindu sentiments,” they demanded. They put 24 hours deadline to react on their demands. 

There is a scene in the film where some Dal members protest against V.Day and force hero and heroine to get married and hero lashes at Dal members.

'Village Lo Vinayakudu' releases on Nov 5th

Sequel to super hit, Vinayakudu, is hitting the screens this November. Titled, Village Lo Vinayakudu, the film stars the original ‘Vinayakudu’ Krishnudu in the lead role and newcomer Sharanya Mohan as heroine. Directed by Sai Kiran Adivi and produced on Moona Water Pictures banner. The film is small on its budget but BIG in idea. As against Vinayakudu that was made in 2.4 Crores, Village Lo Vinayakudu, was shot in 1.39 crores. And the film is on the anvil of becoming the lowest budget movie of the year.

The film’s Audio CD, retailed at Rs.9.98, is the lowest in the Tollywood film history, and is also the single largest selling album of the year. 

Tollywood stars to host “Star Night” on Nov 7

To help the flood victims and raise funds, Movie Artists Association (MAA) has decided to do a charity show with the name of Spandana on November 7th. Announcing the details on October 13th at Jayabheri Club, MAA president Murali Mohan said that all the stars from Tollywood be attending the “Star Night” and would perform several programs.

“The funds raised from this show would be handed over to the flood victims. Rather than donating money individually, all of us stars have decided to help the victims collectively with huge funds,” he added. Hero Balakrishna who took the initiative, Mohan Babu, Dasari Narayana Rao, Jamuna, Venkatesh, NTR, Siddardh, Kalyan Ram, Tarun, Rajashekar, Jeevita, Naveen Vadde, Tarakarathna, Ramya Krishna, Jayasudha, Aryan Rajesh, Kota Srinivas Rao, Vijaya Nirmala, Venu Madhav, Ahuti Prasad, AVS and others graced the press meet.

A.R.Rehman to make album with K Viswanath in Telugu

Music maestro A.R.Rehman is all set to make a music album in Telugu under the guidance of legendary director K Vishwanath. Talking to reporters in Hyderabad today (Monday, October 12, 2009), Rehman informed that he has spoken with K.V. “We agreed to work together and will begin work for it shortly. Other than that I am doing a film in Telugu after a long time for Pawan Kalyan’s Puli,” he added. Rehman will be performing live at a concert in Hyderabad on October 24th. The concert, which was a part of Rahman’s world tour, is to be conducted by GMR group and would be dedicated to late YSR and revenues would be given to flood victims.

“Telugu people have great taste for good music. In initial stage of my career I worked with Telugu music directors like Koti and others. And I am great fan of Mr.K.Vishwanth and his films. I am happy to inform you that I will be working with him for an album soon,” Rehman said.

Ek Niranjan to have parody of Magadheera

Every one was wondering about the movie which will first depict the parody of blockbuster movieMagadheera. Now according to the sources, ace director Puri Jagannadh is doing a parody on Magadheera in his forthcoming film Ek Niranjan. This was revealed by none other than SS Rajamouli in an interview to a TV channel. Puri took the permission from Rajamouli before doing the parody. The parody scenes in Ek Niranjan are canned on comedian Ali, which are said to be a special attraction to the film. Puri is said to have taken special care for the costumes of Ali to fit in the parody of Magadheera. Ek Niranjan stars Prabhas and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles. The film is slated to release on October 29th.

Vishnu and Ileana’s Salim..Dummu Reputadu will be released on Sankranthi 2010. The film which was launched a year ago is in the final stages of shooting. YVS Chowdhary, who likes take his own sweet time in completing the shoot, is trying to give Vishnu a complete new image with this movie. Vishnu, on his part, also went for complete body makeover - lean looks, stubble, and funky hairstyle. Ileana who made debut in YVS’s Devadasu is playing pucca glamour role. Puli in Chennai

Not even a single movie still or any working still of “Komaram Puli” has come out so far. Movie makers are taking utmost care to keep the excitement till the release. The movie is currently being shot in Chennai. It is said that the movie makers are planning to release it in last week of December. 

Pawan Kalyan is playing the role of a cop in the movie. Nikisha Patel, who is making her debut in Telugu Cinema, is playing the lead female role. The other star cast of the movie includes Manoj Bajpai, Charan Raj, Nassar, Jyothi Krishna, Saranya, Brahmaji, Ali, V M C Haneefa and Girish Karnad.

With such a great combination, expectations are very high on the movie. Added to these, after “Jalsa,” which was a huge hit at box office, Pawan Kalyan has taken quite a long time for his next movie. With all the aforementioned, “Komaram Puli” has raised many expectations, especially among Power star’s fans.

Surya’s Ghatikudu will be Hitting Screens on October 17

Surya, Nayanatara’s 42-crore budget movie “Ghatikudu” is slated for release on 17th of this month. The movie is directed by S K Ravi Kumarand produced by Udayanidhi Stalin under Red Giant Movies Banner. Music is scored by Harris Jayraj. Chandan Ramesh is presenting the movie in Telugu. 

“Ghatikudu” (Adhavan in Tamil) is simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil. Surya is said to appear in several getups including a 12-year old boy in the movie. Yesteryear’s actress B Saroja Devi is playing a key role. She is making a comeback to the movies after about 20 years. The other star cast of the movie includes Vadivelu, Sayaji Shinde, Anand Babu, Ramesh Kanna, Rahul Dev and Anu Hassan. 

Jahayeebhava' to release on Oct 23j

Kalyan Ram’s Jahayee Bhava is all set to release on October 23. The film’s music composed by Taman was recently released. “It has got good response and we hope the same magic works for the movie,” said producer and hero Kalyan Ram. He also said that post-production work is under progress in full swing. “So we are releasing it on October 23,” he added.

The film stars Hansika as heroine while newcomer Naren is the director. 

Nagarjuna takes 'Payanam' on train

Nagarjuna has given green signal to another film. Although currently, he is shooting for Rummy, he okayed another script narrated by Tamil director Radha Mohan who tasted success in Telugu with hisAkashamanta starring Prakash Raj and Trisha in the lead roles. Now, he is going to direct a film titledPayanam with Nagarjuna which is to be shot on a train for most part.

Radha Mohan said: “The film Payanam is about the emotions of a man who recalls in a train journey. I am transforming Nagarjuna as a man who remembers the people he met and the incidents that happened a long time back. Major part of the flick is happening inside a train, so we are planning to rent a train for 25 days.”

Dil Raju will produce the film on his newly floated Matinee Entertainments banner. Shooting will commence from Late November. 

EVV to direct sequel to 'Evadi Gola Vaadide'

Sequel to Evadi Gola Vaadide will start soon. The film will have the same star cast and crew and will be produced by Lagadapati Sridhar under Larcso entertainment banner. The film will be shot completely in Bangkok.  A new heroine will be paired opposite Aryan Rajesh. Sunil and Venumadhav will have other important roles in the movie. The film goes to floors soon. E.V.V. Satyanarayana directs it. Meanwhile EVV's Bendu Apparao RMP is releasing on October 16th.   Naresh and Kamna are doing the lead roles in Bendu Apparao RMP.

Genelia starrer 'Katha' music on Oct 13

Genelia and Arun starrer Katha is in the last leg of postproduction. Shooting has already been finished. So, producer Gunnam Gangaraju is planning to launch the film’s music in unique manner on October 13th in Hyderabad. Ek Niranjan introduction song costs Rs. 3 crores

Sensational directors Puri Jagannath's Upcoming film Ekniranjan starring Prabhas and Kangana Ranaut ,  is scheduled to release on october 29th. As per the film crisis the  special attraction in the film is said to be the introduction song of Prabhas and the climax of the film. The audio of the film has got tremendous response from all over.

RGV Rakta Charitra in 3 Versions

Ace director Ramgopal Varma has roped Vivek Oberoi and Surya for his forthcoming film Rakta Charitra. The film is based on faction leader Paritala Ravi's life history. 

Vivek Oberoi will portray the the role of Paritala Ravi and tamil star actor Surya plays the role of  Maddalcheruvu Suri, Paritala Ravi's arch rival. Bothof them will play the role in all the versions(Hindi, Telugu and Tamil). Surya is making his Hindi debut with Rakta Charitra.

Though, Pradeep Pinisetty(aadi) was earlier considered to play the role of Paritala Ravi in Telugu version. Later on, Ramgopal Varma zeroed on Vivek Oberoi.

Melody Bramha Mani Sharma composes music for Rakta Charitra. Mani Sharma is debuting in Bollywood with this film.

As the script is of 5 hours duration, it is planned to be made in two parts. Vivek Oberoi takes the lead in first part and Surya takes the lead in second part. The film will be shot in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously. The regular shooting of the film would commence from October 10th.

Jr NTR new movie Adurs has been going on for a while but the makers are still considering LavKus and Vaade Veddu along with Adurs. Allu Arjun Donates Rs 5 Lakhs to Flood Victims

A.R.Rahman charges Rs. 2 crores for Jessy

Oscar winning music director A.R.Rahman has reportedly charged a woofing sum of Rs.2 crores for Naga Chaitanya's second film Jessy. The film is directed by Gowtham Menon and produced by Manjula under Indira Productions banner. Samantha is debuting as an actress in tollywood with this film.

Ravi Teja- Anushka pair up for Don Seenu

Meera chopra goodbye to films

Hot actress Meera Chopra of Bangaram and Vana fame is officially bidding goodbye to film industry. The film  Jaganmohini will be her last film. All her film bombed at the box-office and even offers stopped knocking her. She realised not to waste time and is planning to get back to the hospitality industry from where she came from. Her family owns a chain of hotels in UK. Now, She is planning to launch a chain of hotels in India too.

Meera revealed her decision in a recent interview to a popular news daily. "I realized I am a complete misfit in cinemas and that I don't belong in here. I am planning to expand my business and Jaganmohini will be my last feature film," says Meera.

Ready' which starred the handsome Ram and the bubbly beauty Genelia in the lead, was a huge hit in Telugu. The movie was directed by successful director Sreenu Vaitla. The movie was bought and it is being remade in Kannada.

Now, according to sources, it is going to be remade in Tamil as well. The Tamil rights seem to have been bought recently. People expect that this flick might turn out to be like “Gamyam” which was a hit in all three languages. More details about the movie are yet to be revealed.

Off late, there has been a huge increase in the number of Telugu movies that have been getting remade into other languages.

Devi Sri Prasad as Hero

Devi Sri Prasad, who is reckoned among the leading music directors of South-Indian cinema is now getting ready to make his debut as a hero. M S Raju is producing a film with Devi Sri Prasad under Sumanth Arts banner in the direction of Tulasiram (director of Mantra). The movie said to be the remake of the Kannada film “Mungara Malai.” It is also said that the movie will be a good musical love story. 

Nagarjuna’s current film titled ‘Rummy'

Honouring the sentiment of two letter English words, Nagarjuna is said to have zeroed on in Rummy as the title for his current film. Most of his recent films are two letter (in Telugu alphabet) catchy words like Mass, Don, King, etc. made money at box-office and also films that released in December with these catchy titles didn’t flop either. So Nagarjuna is reportedly in favour of choosing Rummy for his present flick, which revolves around a con man and game of cards.

The film is being directed by Kiran and produced by Kamakshi Shiva Prasad Reddy along with Annapoorna Studios. Mamta Mohandas is Nagarjuna’s heroine while Sandeep Chowta scores the music. Rummy is slated for December release

Namo Venkatesa to release on January 14th

The film Namo Venkatesa starring Venkatesh and Trisha is scheduled to release on January 14th. This is second film of Trisha with Venkatesh. The duo has earlier worked for successful film Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule. The movie is being directed by Srinu Vytla. Anil Sunkara, Achanta Gopinadh and Achanta Ram are jointly producing this movie on 14 Reels Entertainment banner. Recently the unit had completed a schedule in Europe. Namo Venkatesa is said to be a romantic entertainer.

Manoj as SP Balu in Raghavendra Rao direction

Veteran director K Raghavendra Rao is all set to direct collection king Mohan Babu and Manchu Manoj in same film. Manoj would act as a legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyan in this film. Mohan Babu plays a pivotal role in the film. The film is produced on Mohan Babu's home banner Sri Lakshmi Prasanna pictures. Keeravani composes music for the film. The film is said to be musical entertainer. 

Manoj has earlier worked as a child artist in Raghavendra Rao's film Major Chandrakanth.

Kanchivaram in Telugu soon

It is well known that Prakash Raj won the National Award in the best actor category for his remarkable performance in the Tamil film ‘Kanchivaram’ which apparently won the best film award. This dynamic actor beat off the competition from the superstars of Bollywood – Aamir and Sharukh who were in the race.

'Kanchivaram' is about the life of handloom weavers of Kanchi, the silk town of India. Prakash Raj plays the silk weaver who wows in front of the villagers that he would provide a silk saree to his daughter during her marriage which is a tough task for an ordinary man like him to meet the cost of it. Shreya Reddy plays the innocent wife of Prakash Raj. Directed byPriyadarshan, now the same film is being dubbed into Telugu and most likely to release during the last week of October.

Mohan Babu as NTR in Rakta Charitra

Ace director Ramgopal Varma has roped popular actor Mohan Babu to play the role of LegendaryNTR in his forthcoming film Rakta Charitra. The film is based on faction leader Paritala Ravi's life history. Veteran Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha will plays the same role in Hindi version.

Pradeep Pinisetty of Oka Vichitram fame will portray the the role of Paritala Ravi and tamil star actor Surya plays the role of  Maddalcheruvu Suri, Paritala Ravi's arch rival for telugu version. 

Vivek Oberoi portrays the role of  Paritala Ravi and Surya plays the role of  Maddalcheruvu Suri for Hindi version. Surya is making his Hindi debut with Rakta Charitra.

As, the script is of 5 hours duration, it is planned to be made in two parts. Pradeep Pinisetty takes the lead in first part and Surya takes the lead in second part. The film will be shot in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously. The regular shooting of the film would commence from October 10th.

Prabhas plays police informer in Ek Niranjan

Prabhas and Kangana Ranaut starrer film Ek Niranjan directed by Puri Jagannath is scheduled to release on october 29th. Music of the film is by Manisharma and cinematography is by Shyam K Naidu. The film is produced by Aditya Ram on Aditya Ram movies banner. The audio of the film has got tremendous response from all over. The first bunch of CDs and cassettes are being sold like hot cakes.

According to reliable sources, Prabhas plays the role of a police informer in the film. Ek Niranjan is said to be a complete entertainer with all commercial ingredients.
