Sree Vaas who delivered hit with Gopichand’s Lakshyam is currently directing Rama Rama Krishna Krishna with Ram as hero. Produced by Dil Raju, the film is nearing its completion. Buzz is that Sree Vaas has recently narrated a storyline to Balakrishna and the star is reportedly impressed with it and okayed the project immediately. If everything goes well, this film might go to the sets from this summer. Krishna Prasad who recently produced Mitrudu with Balakrishna would be producing it. 
On the other hand, Balakrishna's current movie, Simha, is in the last leg of production and is slated for April release. 

Padmanabham Passed Away

Only days after Telugu Cinema world is bereaved of Sree Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, another veteran Sree B. Padmanabham (78) passed away today in Chennai due to cardiac arrest.
Born on August 20, 1931 at Simhadripuram of Kadapa district to Basavaraju Venkata Seshaiah and Santhamma, Sree Padmanabham stepped into Telugu film industry in 1943 with the film Krishna Prema. His presence was noted in the films Mayalokam(1945), Radhika (1947), Shavukaru (1950), and Pathala Bhairavi Devatha (1965). His banner, which also had his colleague as theater artiste Vallam Narasimha Rao as producer, was named Rekha & Murali Productions, after Padmanabham's elder son Murali and Vallam Narasimha Rao's daughter Rekha. He made 10 films as producer, including notable films such as Potti Pleader-u (1966), Sree Sree Sree Maryada Ramanna (1967) in which he introduced S.P. Balasubhramanyam as playback singer,Sreerama Katha (1968) which he directed too, Kathanayika Molla (1970) which he also directed and won the State award too, Pelli Kaani Thandri (1976), acting in prominent roles in all of them. As an established actor, he enthralled the audience in various films, and films like Iddaru MithruluDevathaPandava VanavasamuPotti Pleader-uParamanandayya Sishyula KathaSree Sree Sree Maryada Ramanna,Bhakta PrahladaSreerama KathaDasara Bullodu, and Pelli Kaani Thandri(1951), and soon he became a popular choice for comedy. Much later in his career, he turned a producer with NTR-Savitri starrer
He maintained good health until the end, thanks to his healthy living habits and yoga practice. After considerable gap, he reappeared on the silver screen in a short role inMayalodu (1993), in Balakrishna-starrer Bhairava Dweepam (1994) as the sorcerer's aide like in the classic film Pathala Bhairavi that made him popular, and in Subhamasthu (1995). Later, he acted in Chakram (2005) as himself and in Bhadra the same year. Sivaji-Krishna Bhagawan starrer Tata, Birla, Madhyalo Laila (2006) marked Sree Padmanabham's last screen appearance. However, he was seen actively participating in "Telugu Cinema Vajrotsavalu", even extemporaneously singing the popular number prEma kOsamai valalO paDenE paapam pasivaaDu... ( Pathala Bhairavi) without even having to look at the lyric! (He indeed sang a few songs in films too earlier, such as maa ooru madaraasu... from Devatha.)
It's a sad time for fans of Telugu Cinema classics to see such much-celebrated veterans to leave the world. TeluguCinema.Com mourns the death of Sree Padmanabham and hopes his family and fans recover from the bereavement soon.

Naga Chaitanya with sukumar

With his Ye Maaya Chesav is set for release, Naga Chaitanya is gearing up for beginning third film. Now Sukumar’s new film has fallen in his kitty. Yes, Sukumar will be directing Naga Chaitanya. Geeta Arts is behind this project. Sukumar whose last film Arya -2 was stalled from screening due to Telangana turmoil is planning another romantic drama. Earlier he planned this film with Varun Sandesh and Tamannah but he has changed the plans and has roped in Naga Chaitanya. 
Buzz is that this flick will go to the sets first than the Shiva Prasad Reddy’s Silver Jubilee production with Chaitanya. Few days ago, producer and Nagarjuna’s close friend D Shiva Prasad Reddy announced that he would be producing Chaitanya’s fourth film as his banner is celebrating 25 years of its existence this year. But sources say, Sukumar’ film might begin first.

Rare Combination is ready to shoot


K Vijayabhaskar, who has not had a single hit every since Nuvvu Naku Nacchav, is going to soon direct Pawan Kalyan in April.  The film will be written by his trusted assistant Trivikram, with whom he is teaming up many years after Jai Chiranjeeva.
The film will be produced by comedian-turned-producer Ganesh Babu, who has made the unsuccessful Anjaneyulu in 2009.  Though other details of the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be known, it has been planned that the film will go on floors from April.
For Vijayabhaskar, it is a big comeback after continuous flops in the recent years.  Also, with Trivikram, who has himself turned a director, KVB is sure to strike the right note.  The hit combination has delivered three big hits in the last decade - Nuvve Kavali, Nuvvu Naku Nacchav and Manmathudu, two with big stars.
After directing Chiranjeevi in 2005, Pawan is the biggest hero with whom the talented director is working.  The audience can expect a laugh riot!

Bipasha Basu with Rana


It is already known that Daggubati Rana is making his debut in bollywood. The movie is titled as ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ which is being directed by Rohan Sippy. The latest news is that the hot actressBipasha Basu gave a green signal to pair opposite Rana. Although many actresses Kangana Ranaut and Zarine Khan were considered for the role, Bipasha was finally confirmed for the role.
The film has Abhishek Bachchan, Prateek Babbar and Aditya Pancholi as co-stars. ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ is said to be inspired from the Hollywood film, ‘Traffic’ and Rana will be seen playing the role of a Goan musician in the film.

Hero Prabhas father, the noted producer, Uppalapati Suryanarayana Raju expired yesterday night inKIMS hospital. According to sources, he was admitted in the hospitial due to illness, sometime back.
He has made several hit movies like Thandra Paparayudu, Bhaktha Kannappa under the banner Gopi Krishna movies. Several noted personalities from Tollywood have consoled Prabhas and his family.

Vikramarkudu In Tamil

Ravi Taja’s hit film, Vikramarkudu, directed by S S Rajamouli, is now being remade into Tamil. Karthi, who acted in recently released Yuganiki Okkadu, plays the role that was originally done by Ravi Teja. Shiva, who directed Sowaryam and Shankam in Telugu, will be directing the Tamil version for producer Gjnavel Raja on his Studio Green banner. Shooting commences in March. 

Adurs in Big Troble Again

NTR starrer Adhurs landed in trouble again. The film’s producer cum Telugu Desam leader Kodali Naani’s controversial remarks against Telangana irked the Telangana activists. Joint Action Committee (JAC) headed by Professor Kodanda Ram today (Monday, February 08, 2010) called on for stopping the screening of the film. Kodali Naani reportedly made some provocative statements against the Telangana movement and its leaders and also belittled the people for not able to stop the screening of his film before the release. That really irked the Telangana leaders and already in places like Nizambad, the film has been stopped from screening.

Kodanda Ram also asked NTR Jr to give the clarification on the issue.

Mahesh Babu Is coming in Summer

Mahesh Babu fans will be happy to know this news. The star’s current film, being directed by Trivikram Srinivas, has come into final stages of filming. By April, the film’s shooting part would be finished. That means it can be ready for grand release this summer. It has almost been two and half years since the last release of Mahesh Babu’s Athithi hit the screens. His fans are pressurizing the star to release this movie as early as possible. Sources in the unit said 80 percent of the shooting part has already been completed. It has Anushka as the heroine and Manisharma as the music director. Singamala Ramesh is producing it. 

Action sequences and comedy will be the main attractions in this romantic action entertainer.

Leader on Feb 11

All is set for grand release of Sekhar Kammula’s Leader, after several postponements. Feb 11 is the final date fixed for its release. Rana, the grandson of Ramanaidu, is making debut in this film and it was supposed to hit the screens in Dec 2009 but was postponed with turmoil in Telangana was at peak. Now, the movie is directly competing with Nagarjuna’s KD which is slated for Feb 12 release.
