Sree Vaas who delivered hit with Gopichand’s Lakshyam is currently directing Rama Rama Krishna Krishna with Ram as hero. Produced by Dil Raju, the film is nearing its completion. Buzz is that Sree Vaas has recently narrated a storyline to Balakrishna and the star is reportedly impressed with it and okayed the project immediately. If everything goes well, this film might go to the sets from this summer. Krishna Prasad who recently produced Mitrudu with Balakrishna would be producing it. 

On the other hand, Balakrishna's current movie, Simha, is in the last leg of production and is slated for April release. 

Padmanabham Passed Away

Only days after Telugu Cinema world is bereaved of Sree Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, another veteran Sree B. Padmanabham (78) passed away today in Chennai due to cardiac arrest.

Born on August 20, 1931 at Simhadripuram of Kadapa district to Basavaraju Venkata Seshaiah and Santhamma, Sree Padmanabham stepped into Telugu film industry in 1943 with the film Krishna Prema. His presence was noted in the films Mayalokam(1945), Radhika (1947), Shavukaru (1950), and Pathala Bhairavi Devatha (1965). His banner, which also had his colleague as theater artiste Vallam Narasimha Rao as producer, was named Rekha & Murali Productions, after Padmanabham's elder son Murali and Vallam Narasimha Rao's daughter Rekha. He made 10 films as producer, including notable films such as Potti Pleader-u (1966), Sree Sree Sree Maryada Ramanna (1967) in which he introduced S.P. Balasubhramanyam as playback singer,Sreerama Katha (1968) which he directed too, Kathanayika Molla (1970) which he also directed and won the State award too, Pelli Kaani Thandri (1976), acting in prominent roles in all of them. As an established actor, he enthralled the audience in various films, and films like Iddaru Mithrulu, Devatha, Pandava Vanavasamu, Potti Pleader-u, Paramanandayya Sishyula Katha, Sree Sree Sree Maryada Ramanna,Bhakta Prahlada, Sreerama Katha, Dasara Bullodu, and Pelli Kaani Thandri. (1951), and soon he became a popular choice for comedy. He maintained good health until the end, thanks to his healthy living habits and yoga practice. After considerable gap, he reappeared on the silver screen in a short role inMayalodu (1993), in Balakrishna-starrer Bhairava Dweepam (1994) as the sorcerer's aide like in the classic film Pathala Bhairavi that made him popular, and in Subhamasthu (1995). Later, he acted in Chakram (2005) as himself and in Bhadra the same year. Sivaji-Krishna Bhagawan starrer Tata, Birla, Madhyalo Laila (2006) marked Sree Padmanabham's last screen appearance. However, he was seen actively participating in "Telugu Cinema Vajrotsavalu", even extemporaneously singing the popular number prEma kOsamai valalO paDenE paapam pasivaaDu... ( Pathala Bhairavi) without even having to look at the lyric! (He indeed sang a few songs in films too earlier, such as maa ooru madaraasu... from Devatha.)

Naga Chaitanya with sukumar

With his Ye Maaya Chesav is set for release, Naga Chaitanya is gearing up for beginning third film. Now Sukumar’s new film has fallen in his kitty. Yes, Sukumar will be directing Naga Chaitanya. Geeta Arts is behind this project. Sukumar whose last film Arya -2 was stalled from screening due to Telangana turmoil is planning another romantic drama. Earlier he planned this film with Varun Sandesh and Tamannah but he has changed the plans and has roped in Naga Chaitanya. 

Buzz is that this flick will go to the sets first than the Shiva Prasad Reddy’s Silver Jubilee production with Chaitanya. Few days ago, producer and Nagarjuna’s close friend D Shiva Prasad Reddy announced that he would be producing Chaitanya’s fourth film as his banner is celebrating 25 years of its existence this year. But sources say, Sukumar’ film might begin first.

Rare Combination is ready to shoot

K Vijayabhaskar, who has not had a single hit every since Nuvvu Naku Nacchav, is going to soon direct Pawan Kalyan in April.  The film will be written by his trusted assistant Trivikram, with whom he is teaming up many years after Jai Chiranjeeva.

The film will be produced by comedian-turned-producer Ganesh Babu, who has made the unsuccessful Anjaneyulu in 2009.  Though other details of the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be known, it has been planned that the film will go on floors from April.

For Vijayabhaskar, it is a big comeback after continuous flops in the recent years.  Also, with Trivikram, who has himself turned a director, KVB is sure to strike the right note.  The hit combination has delivered three big hits in the last decade - Nuvve Kavali, Nuvvu Naku Nacchav and Manmathudu, two with big stars.

After directing Chiranjeevi in 2005, Pawan is the biggest hero with whom the talented director is working.  The audience can expect a laugh riot!

It is already known that Daggubati Rana is making his debut in bollywood. The movie is titled as ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ which is being directed by Rohan Sippy. The latest news is that the hot actressBipasha Basu gave a green signal to pair opposite Rana. Although many actresses Kangana Ranaut and Zarine Khan were considered for the role, Bipasha was finally confirmed for the role.
The film has Abhishek Bachchan, Prateek Babbar and Aditya Pancholi as co-stars. ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ is said to be inspired from the Hollywood film, ‘Traffic’ and Rana will be seen playing the role of a Goan musician in the film.

Hero Prabhas father, the noted producer, Uppalapati Suryanarayana Raju expired yesterday night inKIMS hospital. According to sources, he was admitted in the hospitial due to illness, sometime back.

Vikramarkudu In Tamil

Ravi Taja’s hit film, Vikramarkudu, directed by S S Rajamouli, is now being remade into Tamil. Karthi, who acted in recently released Yuganiki Okkadu, plays the role that was originally done by Ravi Teja. Shiva, who directed Sowaryam and Shankam in Telugu, will be directing the Tamil version for producer Gjnavel Raja on his Studio Green banner. Shooting commences in March. 

Adurs in Big Troble Again

NTR starrer Adhurs landed in trouble again. The film’s producer cum Telugu Desam leader Kodali Naani’s controversial remarks against Telangana irked the Telangana activists. Joint Action Committee (JAC) headed by Professor Kodanda Ram today (Monday, February 08, 2010) called on for stopping the screening of the film. Kodali Naani reportedly made some provocative statements against the Telangana movement and its leaders and also belittled the people for not able to stop the screening of his film before the release. That really irked the Telangana leaders and already in places like Nizambad, the film has been stopped from screening.

Kodanda Ram also asked NTR Jr to give the clarification on the issue.

Mahesh Babu Is coming in Summer

Mahesh Babu fans will be happy to know this news. The star’s current film, being directed by Trivikram Srinivas, has come into final stages of filming. By April, the film’s shooting part would be finished. That means it can be ready for grand release this summer. It has almost been two and half years since the last release of Mahesh Babu’s Athithi hit the screens. His fans are pressurizing the star to release this movie as early as possible. Sources in the unit said 80 percent of the shooting part has already been completed. It has Anushka as the heroine and Manisharma as the music director. Singamala Ramesh is producing it. 

Action sequences and comedy will be the main attractions in this romantic action entertainer.

All is set for grand release of Sekhar Kammula’s Leader, after several postponements. Feb 11 is the final date fixed for its release. Rana, the grandson of Ramanaidu, is making debut in this film and it was supposed to hit the screens in Dec 2009 but was postponed with turmoil in Telangana was at peak. Now, the movie is directly competing with Nagarjuna’s KD which is slated for Feb 12 release.

Prasthanam starring Sharwanand, Ruby, Sandeep Kishan and Saikumar in the lead roles will be hitting the screens in the month of February. The movie was supposed to release in the month of December but got postponed due to several reasons. The story is based on a political back drop.

Music is by Mahesh Shankar, lyrics are by Vanamali and Chaitanya Prasad, camera is by Savita Singh, and art is by Rajiv Nayar, while story screenplay, dialogues and direction are by Deva Katta who has earlier directed Vennala film. Siddardha Striker in Telugu

Film Bommarillu gave an excellent platform to its young hero Siddarth , to firmly establish himself inTollywood. On the other hand, unlike the other heroes in the industry he made his presence felt in Hindi belt with his film ‘Rangdhe Basanti.’ Soon after giving a hit he once again delivered another hit film ‘Striker’ in Hindi.

Film Striker is based upon the circumstances of Mumbai city in ‘80s. Siddarth acts as a caroms champion in this film. Padmapriya and Vidya Malwade are the heroines in this film. Now, this film is being dubbed into Telugu with same title by Indu Films. The film has many interesting things to know about.

The film is directed and produced by successful director Chandan Arora. There are six music directors worked for this film. Yuvan Shankar Raja, Vishal Bharadwaj, Swananad Kirkere, Sailendra Kumar, Blaz and Amit Trivedhi are the six persons who gave music to this film. Hero Siddarth, who has some singing experience in his earlier films, sang in this film also. Striker is releasing on 5th of February.

Naga Chaitanya 3 Film Starts in March

Naga chaitanya’s third movie under the direction of Ajay Bhuyan will be launching in the month of March. ‘Kamakshi kala movies’ is presenting the film with D Siva Prasad Reddy as producer.

On this event, D.SivaPrasad Reddy the producer of the movie said,” We are happy to make a film withNaga Chaitanya in our banner. Kajal is playing the female lead in the film. Ajay Bhuyan is being introduced as a director with this flick. We are trying to bring out the film with high technical values and a good script.

Naga chaitanya is currently busy with the shooting of his second flick under the direction of Gowtham menon.

NTR getting married this year. Yes, say the sources close to NTR. 27-year-old NTR was reportedly engaged. NTR will be marrying Lakshmi Pranati, a relative of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Lakshmi is currently studying in a private college in Hyderabad. The engagement ceremony took place few days ago in a low-key affair. All arrangements are being done for the grand marriage ceremony in May this year.

NTR’s new film, Shakati, in the direction of Meher Ramesh of Katri fame was launched on January 28, 2010 in  a grand style at a golf club near Gachchibowli in Hyderabad. As Vyjayanthi Movies was formally launched on the same day 35 years ago by late NTR, producer Ashwini Dutt started this film with NTR Jr in grand style. K Raghavendra Rao, Dasari Narayana Rao and Krishnam Raju did the honours of sounding clapboard, switching on the camera and directing the first muhurat shot. NTR participated in the film’s muhurat but heroine Ileana could not attend the function.

Ravi Teja is all set to appear as Veera, a warrior, in Tolly2Holly’s next production in the direction of Ramesh Varma. The first look of ace director Gunashekar's current film, Varudu, with Allu Arjun has been released. Till now no official still was leaked out. The film's logo was released today (Friday, January 22, 2010). "We are happy with the film's out come. It would be another hit in our combination after Desamuduru. Gunashekar is making this film as an all-round entertainer that caters to varied sections of audiences. We are planning to release this summer," Danaiah, producer of the film, said.
Gunashekar praised Allu Arjun for giving knockout performance. "His acting skills will be talked for a long time in the movie. And also Tamil actor Arya's performance would be praised by one and all. We are making it with high technical values and rich production values with 100 real families participating in the shoot," Gunashekar said. It has music by Manisharma.

Allari MLA

Allari Naresh has signed a movie with Bindaas' production house AK Entertainment Banner.  The film is titled MLA, the acronym for Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbayi.  Debutante director Veerabhadram Chowdary will wield the megaphone.

As Bendu Apparao and Malli in Shambo Shiva Shambo, Naresh proved that he can dabble in sentimental, comedy and emotional roles with ease.  Now, you can expect a good performance as an absolutely good guy character in MLA.

Srihari is playing the most important supporting actor of the film.  It may be noted that this is just another film in his kitty.

He is a happier lot these days, as he has already got K Vishwanath's Sumadhuram and another project with director Vamshi in hand.  Though these are not big releases, given that there is not much hype surrounding them as yet and also as the once-front line directors have not been delivering hits in recent times, they are special to him as the roles he is playing in these films are distinct.

Bumper Offer for Raghu

Ever since his Ravanamma number rode the chartbusters in 2009, Raghu Kunche has been a busy musician.  He has two films with Allari Naresh alone lined up.  If in the last month he was signed for 'Betting Bangarraju', in the New Year, yet another Naresh film has come his way.

Titled MLA, the producers have roped in Raghu Kunche as music director.  Besides the two noteworthy ones, there are a slew of other films, small and medium-budgeted, in his kitty.  Which means that Kunche is slowly turning out to be the next big one after Mickey J Meyer et al.

There was also news that he was chosen as the music director of 'Golimaar'.  'Bumper Offer' brought him more offers than any one had imagined.  As a singer, Kunche did prove his mettle.  He then moved on to anchoring, where he made a successful, albeit brief, stint, all owing to his spontaneity.

As a musician, he is sure destined to make strides.

Prabhu into Telugu Films

After Satyaraj, his best pal in Tamil filmdom, Ilayathilagam Prabhu is also setting foot in Tollywood. Karunakaran, the maker of films like Toli Prema, Ullasanga Uthsahanga and Balu ABCDEFG, is roping in Prabhu for an important role in his forthcoming film Darling. Prabhas and Kajal Agharwal play the romantic leads in this film.

We know the actor for his roles in movies like Chandramukhi.  The actor may not be familiar to the audience as much as his contemporaries, but he has already been signed by 'Bommarillu' Bhaskar for his film with Ram Charan.

The Telugu audience have always liked intense character actors imported from other industries.  In fact, whenever top Tamil heroes like Rajinikanth and Sarath Kumar have done significant supporting roles in our movies, they met up with immense fame and success. Let's see if Prabhu enlivens the trend.

When was the last time you heard about Leader's date of release?  The last time we heard about it was when it was postponed at the time of the Christmas eve, when the producers said they were planning to release it on the Sankranthi day.

There has been no official confirmation about the release date ever.  The movie, reportedly made at a big cost, is one of the most-awaited movies, in which Rana Daggubati is debuting as an actor.  It is learnt that director Shekar Kammula is making some changes to the script and also re-filming some scenes.

Reasons for the undue delay are exactly not known, but the film may release only in February.  The audio, released in December, has music by Mickey J Meyer.  Usually,  there is not more than a month's gap between the audio and theatrical release.

The AVM movie is a political drama, which Mr. Kammula has made with passion.  Let's hope it comes before us very soon and turns out to be a super hit.

Magadheera movie which is the biggest hit in the history of Telugu cinema completed 175 days today. It ran for 50 days in 302 centers and 100 days in 225 centers. It is an all India record. The movie’s 175-days run is affected in Telangana area due to ban on Magadheera. However, Magadheera has successfully completed 175 days run in  all other places

Lakshmi Prasanna is ready for acting

Kedi is coming on feb 12

The Jr. NTR film Adhurs was blocked from being released in Nizam and the film was not allowed to be screened for the first day at many places in Telangana. Now the ‘T’ agitators have turned their attention on the soon to be released film of hero Nagarjuna – ‘Kedi’. They are threatening to block the screening of the film in Telangana. Kedi is slated to hit the screens on February 12. It remains to be seen how Nagarjuna will resolve this problem now.
