Puli in Chennai

Not even a single movie still or any working still of “Komaram Puli” has come out so far. Movie makers are taking utmost care to keep the excitement till the release. The movie is currently being shot in Chennai. It is said that the movie makers are planning to release it in last week of December. 

Pawan Kalyan is playing the role of a cop in the movie. Nikisha Patel, who is making her debut in Telugu Cinema, is playing the lead female role. The other star cast of the movie includes Manoj Bajpai, Charan Raj, Nassar, Jyothi Krishna, Saranya, Brahmaji, Ali, V M C Haneefa and Girish Karnad. 

S J Surya, the director of Pawan Kalyan’s block buster “Kushi,” is directing “Komaram Puli.” Oscar recipient A R Rehman is scoring music. With such a great combination, expectations are very high on the movie. Added to these, after “Jalsa,” which was a huge hit at box office, Pawan Kalyan has taken quite a long time for his next movie. With all the aforementioned, “Komaram Puli” has raised many expectations, especially among Power star’s fans. 

Singanamala Ramesh Babu is producing the movie under Kanakaratna Movies banner while S. Satyamurthi is presenting it. 

Surya’s Ghatikudu will be Hitting Screens on October 17

Surya, Nayanatara’s 42-crore budget movie “Ghatikudu” is slated for release on 17th of this month. The movie is directed by S K Ravi Kumarand produced by Udayanidhi Stalin under Red Giant Movies Banner. Music is scored by Harris Jayraj. Chandan Ramesh is presenting the movie in Telugu. 

“Ghatikudu” (Adhavan in Tamil) is simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil. Surya is said to appear in several getups including a 12-year old boy in the movie. Yesteryear’s actress B Saroja Devi is playing a key role. She is making a comeback to the movies after about 20 years. The other star cast of the movie includes Vadivelu, Sayaji Shinde, Anand Babu, Ramesh Kanna, Rahul Dev and Anu Hassan. 

Jahayeebhava' to release on Oct 23j

Kalyan Ram’s Jahayee Bhava is all set to release on October 23. The film’s music composed by Taman was recently released. “It has got good response and we hope the same magic works for the movie,” said producer and hero Kalyan Ram. He also said that post-production work is under progress in full swing. “So we are releasing it on October 23,” he added.

The film stars Hansika as heroine while newcomer Naren is the director. 

Nagarjuna takes 'Payanam' on train

Nagarjuna has given green signal to another film. Although currently, he is shooting for Rummy, he okayed another script narrated by Tamil director Radha Mohan who tasted success in Telugu with hisAkashamanta starring Prakash Raj and Trisha in the lead roles. Now, he is going to direct a film titledPayanam with Nagarjuna which is to be shot on a train for most part.

Radha Mohan said: “The film Payanam is about the emotions of a man who recalls in a train journey. I am transforming Nagarjuna as a man who remembers the people he met and the incidents that happened a long time back. Major part of the flick is happening inside a train, so we are planning to rent a train for 25 days.”

Dil Raju will produce the film on his newly floated Matinee Entertainments banner. Shooting will commence from Late November. 

EVV to direct sequel to 'Evadi Gola Vaadide'

Sequel to Evadi Gola Vaadide will start soon. The film will have the same star cast and crew and will be produced by Lagadapati Sridhar under Larcso entertainment banner. The film will be shot completely in Bangkok.  A new heroine will be paired opposite Aryan Rajesh. Sunil and Venumadhav will have other important roles in the movie. The film goes to floors soon. E.V.V. Satyanarayana directs it. Meanwhile EVV's Bendu Apparao RMP is releasing on October 16th.   Naresh and Kamna are doing the lead roles in Bendu Apparao RMP.

Genelia starrer 'Katha' music on Oct 13

Genelia and Arun starrer Katha is in the last leg of postproduction. Shooting has already been finished. So, producer Gunnam Gangaraju is planning to launch the film’s music in unique manner on October 13th in Hyderabad. Directed by newcomer Sreenivas Raaga, Actor Shafi is playing an important role in the film.

Sensational directors Puri Jagannath's Upcoming film Ekniranjan starring Prabhas and Kangana Ranaut ,  is scheduled to release on october 29th. RGV Rakta Charitra in 3 Versions

Ace director Ramgopal Varma has roped Vivek Oberoi and Surya for his forthcoming film Rakta Charitra. The film is based on faction leader Paritala Ravi's life history. 

Vivek Oberoi will portray the the role of Paritala Ravi and tamil star actor Surya plays the role of  Maddalcheruvu Suri, Paritala Ravi's arch rival. Bothof them will play the role in all the versions(Hindi, Telugu and Tamil). Surya is making his Hindi debut with Rakta Charitra.

Though, Pradeep Pinisetty(aadi) was earlier considered to play the role of Paritala Ravi in Telugu version. Later on, Ramgopal Varma zeroed on Vivek Oberoi.

Melody Bramha Mani Sharma composes music for Rakta Charitra. Mani Sharma is debuting in Bollywood with this film.

As the script is of 5 hours duration, it is planned to be made in two parts. Vivek Oberoi takes the lead in first part and Surya takes the lead in second part. The film will be shot in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously. The regular shooting of the film would commence from October 10th.

M S Raju is producing a film with Devi Sri Prasad under Sumanth Arts banner in the direction of Tulasiram (director of Mantra). The movie said to be the remake of the Kannada film “Mungara Malai.” It is also said that the movie will be a good musical love story. 

Nagarjuna’s current film titled ‘Rummy'

Honouring the sentiment of two letter English words, Nagarjuna is said to have zeroed on in Rummy as the title for his current film. Most of his recent films are two letter (in Telugu alphabet) catchy words like Mass, Don, King, etc. made money at box-office and also films that released in December with these catchy titles didn’t flop either. So Nagarjuna is reportedly in favour of choosing Rummy for his present flick, which revolves around a con man and game of cards.

Anand Ranga to direct Rana second film

He will be composing music for Puri Jagannadh’s next film, Golimaar, which stars Gopichand in a lead role. As his songs composed for Bumper Offer became instant hit, Puri Jagannadh has offered him to score music for Golimaar too. 

Raghu who sang songs for most of the compositions by Chakri in Puri’s earlier films is slowly becoming regular music director in Puri camp replacing Chakri’s place. Will he strike gold with Golimaar? Let’s wait and see.

Kalyani turns producer

Actress Kalyani who married to director Surya Kiran is making come back as actress as well as turning as producer. She is producing a film titled Chapter 6 in the direction of her hubby. Kalyani plays the lead role while newcomers Bala and Soni are playing romantic pair.  Bala is brother of director Shiva (of Shankamand Sowryam) while Soni Suri is sister to Miss India Natasha Suri.

“We have completed the shooting part and planning to the release movie shortly. The film tells about six aspects of love with each aspect representing a colour - Blue, Red, White, Black, Orange, and Yellow,” director Surya Kiran said.

Music is composed by newcomers P C Shivan and Mohan Sitara.

Allu Arjun’s “Arya 2,” a sequel to his super hit movie “Arya” is getting ready for release. The movie is expected to hit the screens in the second week of October. Currently, post production works are in progress.

Asin gets bedridden for two weeks

Asin Thottumkal is advised to stay on bed for two long weeks as she got operated in the “ Koliben Ambani Hospital” or sinus surgery. It has been reported that the squint eyed beauty had a sinoscopy which was meant for brief sinus problems which was operated by a well experienced team of doctors on Monday morning.  

Asin was diagnosed with the sinus problem early last month as she got irritating allergic cold with acute sinus making her nostrils blocked. Though the surgery was done through nostrils avoiding any kind of cuts on her skin, the doctors team have advised the Malayalam beauty to take complete rest for 7 days and then to stay at home for another week.

Tushar Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, came down to Hyderabad to unveil the music albums of Telugu film, Mahatma, a film named on the father of the nation. Tushar Gandhi launched the audio ceremony and unveiled the first album and handed over the cassettes to the celebrities who graced the event. As Mahatma is Srikanth’s 100th film, the audio launch ceremony was held today (Sep 21, 2009) in grand manner at Novotel Hotel, Hyderabad.Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Mohan Babu, Ravi Teja, Allu Arjun, Tarun, Charmee, Allu Aravind, Brahmanandam, S S Rajamouli, Mutyala Subbaiah, Tammareddy Bharadwaja and several other bigwigs from Tollywood graced the ceremony.

Allu Arjun wondered how a hero can complete 100 films in the current competent environment. “It is nice to Srikanth achieving this,” Allu said.

Rajamouli said he likes Srikanth as actor but could not able to work with him. “Regarding this film, I can only say only Krishnavamsi can dream a script like this. If directors like me offered a film on Gandhism, we would be running away of it as we don’t have guts like him to pull it off. He has always been like this. When I met him during the time of Ninne Pelladuta to assist him, he asked me to write dialogues. He has such daring attitude to ask an assistant director to pen the dialogues,” Rajamouli recalled.

Charmee, Nagarjuna, Ravi Teja, Tarun and others wished Srikanth and Krishnavamsi a great success.

Ajay's 'Saarayi Veerraju' audio launched

Music of Ajay and Ramya Nambisian starrer Saarayi Veerraju was launched today (September 21, 2009) at Prasad Labs Preview Theatre, Hyderabad. The film has 10 songs composed by newcomer Sree Sai and each of the guest who graced the event played the song there. The audio albums were unveiled by S S Rajamouli. Directed by Rajamouli’s associate Kannan, the film is produced by Vishalakshi Creations.

Rajamouli praised Kannan for his command over visuals. “He presents visuals so strongly on to the screen. He worked with me for films like Vikramarkudu and apart from Kannan, hero Ajay and other crew are mostly associated with me, so it feels like I am attending my own film’s function,” Rajamouli said.

Director Krish who also graced the event said Kannan is a good writer. “He helped me a lot when I was doing Gamyam.”

Meher Ramesh said Kannan has helped him in Billa and is also doing for my next film with NTR.  “He’s dear friend and a good script writer,” he said.

Sukumar, Tammareddy and others also wished the team.

Nayantara to pair opposite MS Raju's son

Producer-turned-director MS Raju, who has earlier delivered many Blockbusters is now all set to launch his son Sumanth. Hot beauty Nayantara is expected to be paired opposite Sumanth in this big budgeted film.

Though, Sumanth was supposed to make his debut in a movie directed by Teja. The film has been shelved for unknown reasons.

Allu Sirish South Scope to hit stands on October 1st

Allu Sirish will be launching a film magazine South Scope very soon. South Scope is an English language magazine dedicated to South Indian cinema. The idea is to be the brand ambassador of South Indian cinema to the outside world. The first issue is going to hit the stands across south India by 1st October 2009. It will be available in major book-stores in the non-Southern metros such as Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata also.

Srinivasulu Moorthy has been given the responsibility of publishing the magazine, whereas noted writer and columnist Vanaja Banagiri will be the editor.

Get ready to match steps with Allu Arjun

The Pepsi Co India announced a talent-based contest ‘7UP Star with Allu Arjun’. Executive Vice-President Alpana Titus said that this was a talent-based consumer initiative where consumers would be judged on their dancing skills and showmanship. The promotion began on September 16 and would cover 13 cities as part of which it would be organised in Guntur on Saturday. The journey began at Tirupati, and would be organised at Warangal, Karimnagar, Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Nellore, Vijaywada, Rajahmundry, Guntur, Kurnool, Vizag, Nalgonda and Vizianagram.

The contest gives 7UP consumers an opportunity to share screen space and match their dance moves with actor Allu Arjun. This would not only bring the consumer up, close and personal with the celebrity Allu Arjun, but also matches their steps and be a part of his new music video,” she added in a release here on Friday. The registration dates are September 18 and 19. Consumers need to fill in the registration forms, which would be made available at select venues in the city. Further more, interactive floats and canter activations had been arranged, she said.

The intra-city auditions for the ‘7UP Star with Allu’ campaign would take place on Saturday in Sri BVR Kalyanamandapam, Landmark - Amaravati Road, Nagarala. Eligibility conditions for participations were available on the website www.7up.in  Twenty-four final participants across 13 cities would then get a chance to train under seasoned choreographers on dancing techniques and movements.  The finals would be judged by Allu Arjun, along with other judges. The winners of this contest would get a chance to star in an all new music video with Allu Arjun, the release said.

Kalyan Ram ki Jayahee Bhava

After the critically acclaimed film ‘Hare Ram’, Kalyan Ram’s next film co-starring Hansika Motwani is titled as ‘Jayahee Bhava’. This film which is due for release in October is directed by Naren and produced by Kalyan Ram himself under NTR Arts banner. Kalyan Ram is pretty confident about the film as it is said to be shaping up well. The film is in its final stage of shooting.

Sonia Agarwal, the sandalwood actress made her Tamil cinema debut in the year 2003 with the movie titled as “ Kadhal Kondein”. In the year 2006 she married director Selva Raghavan and started her family life.

But due to some differences in their marriage life, the couple faced a tough time from the past 8 months. Recently, there was news that Sonia has filed for a divorce petition in Chennai and wants to separate from her director husband on the basis of alimony.

Sonia is still in shape with her curves and sizes intact to tempt some males. Recently, she has been approached by actor Upendra for a role in his upcoming movies. Sonia will be playing the role of a widower of a police office in the movie. The movie will be made in Telugu and Kannada simultaneously and will offer Sonia a large scope for acting.

The actress is said to be considering this role seriously, but desires to play lead actress role in this movie.

Tagore Madhu purchases the entire AP rights of Mahatma

Tagore Madhu, the producer of ‘Tagore’ and co-producer of 'Stalin' and 'Ghajini' (Hindi) has purchased the distribution rights of ‘Mahatma’ for entire AP. The film is all set the release on Oct 2nd, the Gandhi Jayanthi Day. ‘Mahatma’ is Srikanth’s 100th film directed by Krishna Vamsi and produced by Manohar. Bhavana is pairing with Srikanth for the first time. Srikanth Deva, the Tamil music director is composing the tunes. Audio launch is taking place on Sept 19th. Chief Minister Rosaiah and PRP leader Chiranjeevi are the chief guests of the function.

Samantha opposite Chaitanya

Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya who made debut in Josh has already begun working for his second film. Chaitanya is currently shooting for his new film under the direction of Gowtham Menon. The film’s shooting is under progress at a special set erected in Chennai. Samantha, a new actress, has been selected as heroine for Naga Chaitanya. The film is an intense romantic love story and Naga Chaitanya will look completely different from what he was seen in Josh.  The film is produced by Mahesh Babu's sister Manjula on Indira Creations banner. A.R.Rehman scores the music. 

Surya as 'Ghatikudu'

After Okkadunnadu, Tamil hero Surya comes up with another movie. His current Tamil film, Aadhavan, is being dubbed into Telugu as Ghatikudu. Nayanatara stars opposite Surya in this film which is directed by K S Ravi Kumar. Chandana Ramesh, MLA from Rajamundry, has bagged the rights for Telugu and he is releasing it on his banner CNR Creations.

Yesteryear actress B Saraoja Devi is playing a key role. “Almost after two decades, she is making comeback to the silver screen,” said producer Ramesh. Surya appears in various getups that include as 12-year-old kid. Haaris Jayaraj has composed the music and music will be launched at the month end. “We are planning to release the movie by next month end,” he added. 

No plans to remake Magadheera in Hindi

Director S S Rajamouli has cleared the rumors of remaking Magadheera in Hindi. When asked about the possibility of he remaking the blockbuster into Bollywood, Rajamouli denied the news. “I want to make it clear that it was true that producer Allu Aravind approached me for remaking it in Hindi and but I didn’t agree to it,” Rajamouli stated. He also said that there would be no sequel to this, as this film has no scope for further extension.

He was speaking at press meet today (Sep 18) conducted by EFX Team of Prasad Labs that that did all the special effects and CG work for the movie at Mumbai and Chennai. They showed the media the work that they have done for the film including ‘Palace set’ and other sequences. Ramesh Prasad of Prasad Labs, Sai Prasad of EFX, Kamal Kannan, special effects director and others participated in the press meet. 

Miss India Testing Her Luck in Tollywood once Again

Miss India Sindhura Gadde testing her luck in Tollywood again. Sindhura made her debut in Rasool Ellore’s Sangamam, which was a damp squib and later she went into hibernation for sometime. Now she returns to Telugu screen with renewed zeal and makeover. Director Ravi Babu is giving her break in his current film, Amaravathi, which is almost at finishing stage. Sindhura plays the key role in the film along with other two main heroines - Bhumika and Sneha. Will Sindhra get her real break with this film? Lets wait and watch.

Vimala Raman gets a call from Simbu

Vimala Raman who made her mark in malluwood, is an NRI in real life. She is from Sydney and acted in Malayalam movies and then migrated to Tamil .she engraved her name in Tamil cinema with the movies “ Poi” and “ Raman Thediva Seethai” which won her accolades from many of her fans.

Recently, she was in news that she is going to don a bikini in her Telugu debut movie opposite to actor Tarun. Hearing this actor Silambarasan who owned a BMWX family version recently has contacted her.

He wants her in a special role in one of his upcoming movies and asked her to don a bikini in his film too. Vimala is said to consider this project as her role in the movie seems interesting. She is playing the role of a NRI girl from Australia who is forced to marry an Indian guy which is against her willingness. But when she marries him, she finds him interesting. This story is said to be a copy of 2007 Hindi super hit “ Namaste London”.

So, as the script demands a bikini scene in the scenic beaches of Australia, Vimala has been approached with this role. Vimala Raman has asked for a time of 15 days and may reveal her decision about this movie till September end.
